This slightly sparkling wine is produced at Casa Santa Eulalia, based at Atei, near Mondim de Basto – nearly 40 miles east of Oporto.

Pale straw in colour, this delicious fruity white wine is made from a careful blend of Portuguese grape varieties – Malvasia Fina, Ferňao Pires Moscatel, Galego Branco and Códega do Larinho. (Alc. 13% Vol.).

Wood matured for two to three years in oak vats to enables it to soften and develop without losing the fresh, intense fruity character and deep ruby colour. This is a great Port from the slopes of the Douro. (Alc. 20% Vol.)

Darien Tempranillo is cherry red with purple hues, quite mellow with aromas of red currants and a hint of liquorice. Tempranillo is good with game, cured hams and sausages, casseroles and grilled meat with herbs – especially lamb.

This well made wine is deep cherry red and made from a careful blend of Tempranillo (like Cabernet Sauvignon) for backbone and strength, Mazuelo (like Carignan) for acidity and tannins, Garnacha (like Grenache) for body and charm and Graciano for rich colour and style.(Alc.13.5% Vol.).

Made from 100% Tempranillo, this is a well-balanced wine, with a good structure and a firm round taste. It also has great potential for ageing in bottle.

This delightful (an alternative to Champagne) Cava is made from a careful blend of 50% Parellada, 30% Macebeo and 20% Xarello grape varieties. Like any other Cava, it is a natural wine made by the traditional champenoise method.

Produced by Vina Trivento, this Viognier (also known as a rare white grape varietal from the Rhone) combined with a little Sauvignon is brilliant yellow with greenish tinges and has an aroma of spring flowers together with complex fruit flavours of apricots, tropical fruit and honey. Probably best on its own as an aperitif and quite good with spicy Indian dishes. (Alc. 13% Vol.)

Oak-aged for 8 months – this is a wine with good balance and depth of power. It displays distinct hints of cassis in the mouth and offers underlying aromas of vanilla and chocolate. (Alc. 13.5% Vol)

Produced by Vina Trivento, this is a delightfully fresh, smooth and appealing dry wine made from 70% Chardonnay and 30% Chenin Blanc grape varieties.

This Sauvignon Blanc was produced from grapes grown in the Chilean Central Valley, where there are fine vineyards with exceptional soil and climate conditions allowing the production of fruity wine styles.

Grapes for this vintage Chardonnay were handpicked, in the Maipo Valley, during mid March. After fermentation (on its lees), it was oak-aged in French barrels for 11 months.

This approachable Carmenere is bold red with shades of violet and has an aroma of pepper, black toasted prunes and vanilla. The combined aging process takes place partly in stainless steel tanks and also in American and French oak casks. Suggested food accompaniments are pastas, mature cheeses and meats of your choice. This deep dark red Merlot has layers of complex currant, spice, wild berry and plum flavours with an added touch of vanilla and mocha. This particular wine is delightful with rich stews in the winter and spicy barbecues in the summer.
